2006 Pontiac G6 GTP, 2D Coupe, StandardSECTION Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Refer to SIR Caution in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3Β .
  2. Remove the upper steering column trim cover. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement .
  3. Turn the steering wheel to the 3 o'clock position.

  5. Adjust and install J 44298Β  into the 2 openings on the back side of the steering wheel. See Special ToolsΒ .
  6. Pull the handle toward the steering wheel. Release the 2 spring-loaded fasteners.
  7. Turn the steering wheel. Repeat the same steps for the remaining 2 openings.
  8. Disconnect the wiring and remove the bag.
