  1. Insert the SIR through the I/P opening with the vinyl edge up and the harness on the right side of the vehicle.

  3. Insert the SIR guide pins in the I/P brace slots and rotate the round edge upward to align the bolt holes.
  4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  5. Install the bolts securing the SIR to the I/P support beam.

    Tighten:Β  Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

  6. Connect the yellow 2-way connector to the vehicle wiring harness.
  7. Install the I/P compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - Instrument Panel (I/P) in Instrument Panel, Gages, and Console.
  8. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5Β .
  9. Turn the ignition on and verify that the SIR telltale operates properly.
