Circuit/System Testing

2006 Pontiac G6 GTP, 2D Coupe, StandardSECTION Circuit/System Testing
  1. Disconnect S17.
  2. Use a scan tool to monitor Folding Top Header Dowel Pin.
  3. The scan tool should indicate In Position. => If scan tool does not indicate In Position, test the signal circuit of S17 for a short to ground. => If circuit OK, replace FTC Module.
  4. Connect a fused jumper wire between the signal circuit and ground.
  5. The scan tool should indicate Not In Position. => If the scan tool does not indicate Not In Position, test the signal circuit for an open or high resistance. => If circuit OK, replace FTC Module.
  6. Probe the signal circuit of S17 with a test lamp connected to B+. The test lamp should illuminate. => If the test lamp does not illuminate, repair an open or high resistance in the ground circuit.
  7. If circuits test OK, replace S17.
