Removal Procedure

NOTE:
Clean all of the following areas before performing any disconnections in order to avoid possible contamination in the system:
- The fuel pipe connections
- The hose connections
- The areas surrounding the connections
- Relieve the fuel system pressure. Refer to Fuel Pressure Relief ProcedureΒ .
- Loosen the fuel filler cap to relieve any vapor pressure.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable.
- Remove both fuel rail covers.
- Disconnect the engine compartment fuel feed pipe (4) at the fuel rail.
- Disconnect the engine compartment EVAP pipe (1) at the EVAP canister purge solenoid.
- Disconnect the engine compartment fuel feed pipe at the chassis fuel feed pipe (3).
- Disconnect the engine compartment EVAP pipe at the chassis EVAP pipe (2).
- Cap the fuel pipes to prevent possible fuel system contamination.
