DTC U1300, Class 2 Circuit (Short To Ground): Testing

- If BCM diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BCM diagnostic system check was not performed, go to BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECKΒ .
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect splice pack SP205, located below instrument panel, by right side of steering column. Using test light, backprobe between battery voltage and splice pack SP205 harness terminal "A" (Purple wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 4).
- Repair short to ground in Purple wire between splice pack SP205 and Data Link Connector (DLC). Go to step 9).
- Using test light, backprobe between battery voltage and splice pack SP205 harness terminal "M" (Light Green wire). If test light illuminates, go to next step. If test light does not illuminate, go to step 6).
- Leave test light connected as specified in step 4). Disconnect BCM 24-pin connector C2. If test light illuminates, go to step 7). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 8).
- Using test light, backprobe between battery voltage and splice pack SP205 harness terminal "L" (White wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 10). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 11).
- Repair short to ground in Light Green wire between BCM connector C2 and splice pack SP205. Go to step 9).
- Turn ignition off. Replace BCM. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATIONΒ . Reprogram BCM. See BCM PROGRAMMING. Go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear DTCs. Perform BCM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECKΒ .
- Leave scan tool connected as specified in step 6). Disconnect A/C-heater control 12-pin connector C2, located below center of instrument panel. If test light illuminates, go to step 12). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 13).
- Using test light, backprobe between battery voltage and splice pack SP205 harness terminal "G" (Gray wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 14). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 15).
- Repair short to ground in White wire between A/C-heater control and splice pack SP205. Go to step 9).
- Replace A/C-heater control. Go to step 9).
- Leave test light connected as specified in step 11). Disconnect IPC connector. If test light illuminates, go to step 16). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 17).
- Using test light, backprobe between battery voltage and splice pack SP205 harness terminal "E" (Light Blue wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 18). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 19).
- Repair short to ground in Gray wire between IPC and splice pack SP205. Go to step 9).
- Replace IPC. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANEL article. Go to step 9).
- Leave test light connected as specified in step 15). Disconnect EBTCM connector C1, located below instrument panel, to left of steering column. If test light illuminates, go to step 20). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 21).
- Using test light, backprobe between battery voltage and splice pack SP205 harness terminal "B" (Dark Green wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 24). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 25).
- Repair short to ground in Light Blue wire between EBTCM connector C1 and splice pack SP205. Go to step 9).
- Replace EBTCM. See appropriate ANTI-LOCK BRAKES article in BRAKES section. Go to step 9).
- Repair short to ground in Dark Green wire between PCM connector C1 and splice pack SP205. Go to step 9).
- Replace PCM. Go to step 9).
- Disconnect PCM 80-pin Blue connector C1, located inside air cleaner assembly. Using test light, backprobe between battery voltage and splice pack SP205 harness terminal "B" (Dark Green wire). If test light illuminates, go to step 22). If test light does not illuminate, go to step 23).
- Turn ignition off. Reinstall all components and connectors. Clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If DTC U1300 sets again, go to step 8). If DTC U1300 does not set again, system is operating properly.
