Abs Modulator/Motor Pack Assembly: Disassembly

1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP, 4D SedanSECTION Disassembly
  1. With ABS modulator/motor pack and master cylinder assembly removed from vehicle, remove as much fluid as possible from master cylinder. Turn ABS modulator/motor pack and master cylinder assembly upside down. Remove 6 Torx head screws attaching gear cover to bottom of ABS modulator/motor pack assembly.
  2. Remove 4 Torx head screws attaching motor pack to ABS modulator. Remove motor pack. See Fig 1. DO NOT drop motor pack. If motor pack is dropped, replacement is necessary.
  3. Remove 2 ABS modulator-to-master cylinder through bolts and "O" rings. Separate master cylinder from ABS modulator. Remove 2 transfer tubes and "O" rings from master cylinder or ABS modulator. See Fig 1. If ABS modulator is being replaced, ensure gears are installed in same location on replacement ABS modulator. See ABS/TCS MODULATOR GEARSΒ .
