Diagnostic Energy Reserve Module (DERM) maintains sufficient voltage to cause air bag deployment up to 10 MINUTES after ignition switch is turned off and battery disconnected. Service procedures require disconnection of inflator module from deployment loop to avoid accidental deployment.
