(1) Tighten all cylinder head bolts in sequence to 18 ft. lbs. (24 N.m). Then tighten all bolts except No. 9 to 26 ft. lbs. (35 N.m). See Figure . Retighten bolt No. 9 to 18 ft. lbs. (24 N.m). Repeat sequence, tightening all bolts 1/4 turn (90 degrees).
(2) Tighten bolts in sequence. See Figure . Tighten 3 inner bolts to 37 ft. lbs. (51 N.m) and 4 outer bolts to 26 ft. lbs. (35 N.m).
(3) Apply thread sealant to bolts.
(4) Tighten bolts in sequence. See Figure .
(5) Tighten all bolts in sequence to 108 INCH lbs. (12 N.m). See Figure . In sequence, tighten short bolts to 11 ft. lbs. (15 N.m) plus an additional 75 degrees and the long bolts to 11 ft. lbs. (15 N.m) plus an additional 90 degrees.
