Upper Control Arm: Removal

1987 Pontiac Grand Prix LE, 5.0 HSECTION Removal
  1. Note position of alignment shims. Remove nuts from upper control arm pivot shaft, remove nuts and shims. Raise vehicle and support lower control arms by placing safety stands between spring seats and ball joints. Remove wheel. Separate ball joint from steering knuckle using Ball Joint Remover (J-23742 ).
  2. Support hub assembly to prevent damage to brake hose. Remove upper control arm.
