1987 Pontiac Firebird Formula, 5.0 H, AutomaticSECTION Dis Ignition Module R & I
  1. Disconnect negative battery cable. Unplug connectors at ignition module. Disconnect spark plug wires from coil pack. Remove ignition module from engine block. Remove coils and assembly plate.
  2. On 2.5L engine, inspect crankshaft sensor "O" ring for wear, cracks, or other damage. See Figure. Replace if necessary. Lubricate new "O" ring with engine oil before installing. To install, reverse removal procedure.
