Turbo Hydra-MATIC 125C (Transaxle) FIERO: Removal: Notes
1984 Pontiac 6000 STESECTION Notes
- Remove air cleaner, negative battery cable, ground cable shift cable and TV cable at transaxle. Remove electrical connectors. Remove upper transaxle-to-engine bolts. Install engine support fixture.NOTE: Remove neutral start switch connector in a straight horizontal movement. DO NOT rock or tip connector when removing. Contacts may bend, preventing proper operation when reconnected.
- Raise vehicle. Remove rear wheels. Remove both axle shafts. Remove catalytic converter heat shield. Remove exhaust pipe at manifold. Remove cradle nuts-to-engine and transaxle. Support cradle. Remove remaining cradle nuts and lower cradle out of way.
- Remove cooler lines. Remove starter shield and starter. Remove flywheel-to-torque converter nuts. Position transmission jack under transaxle. Remove lower transaxle-to-engine bolts. Lower transaxle from vehicle.
