Forward Clutch: Inspection

1983 Pontiac Grand Prix Base, 5.0 HSECTION Inspection
  1. Inspect lined and steel separator plates for signs of burning, scoring or wear. Inspect piston return springs for collapsed coils or signs of distortion or overheating. Inspect piston for cracks. Inspect clutch housing for wear, scoring, open oil passages and free operation of exhaust check ball.
  2. Inspect input shaft for open lubrication passages at ends, damaged splines, damaged ground bushing journals and cracks or distortion.
