NOTE:
Any engine faults present may affect operation of A/C system.
- Using DRB, perform ENGINE CONTROLLER SYSTEM test. If DRB displays ENGINE CONTROLLER: ACTIVE ON THE BUS, go to next step. If DRB does not display ENGINE CONTROLLER: ACTIVE ON THE BUS, go to step 3).
- Using DRB, read POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE (ENGINE) trouble codes. If DRB displays A/C CLUTCH RELAY CIRCUIT or any other engine trouble codes, see appropriate G - TESTS W/ CODES article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section. Trouble code(s) is related to PCM, A/C clutch relay, or A/C clutch coil. If DRB does not display A/C CLUTCH RELAY CIRCUIT, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Locate PCM under air cleaner and disconnect PCM connector. Do not disconnect DRB from data link connector. Using a DVOM, measure resistance of Chrysler Collision Detection Bus (CCD Bus+) circuit (Violet/Brown wire) between PCM connector terminal No. 26 and data link connector terminal No. 4. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open CCD Bus+ circuit. Perform VERIFICATION TEST .
- Using a DVOM, measure resistance of Chrysler Collision Detection Bus (CCD Bus-) circuit (White/Black wire) between PCM connector terminal No. 46 and data link connector terminal No. 3. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace PCM. Perform VERIFICATION TEST . If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in CCD Bus- circuit. Perform VERIFICATION TEST .
