.
- Using DRB, erase trouble codes. Attempt to start engine. If engine will not start, crank engine for at least 10 seconds.
- Using DRB, read trouble codes. If engine started, allow engine to idle for at least 20 seconds. If DRB displays INJECTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT, go to step 6). If DRB does not display INJECTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT, condition required to set trouble code is not present at this time. Go to next step.
- The INJECTOR CONTROL CIRCUIT trouble code takes .64-10 seconds to set if Powertrain Control Module (PCM) does not detect an inductive kick .18 ms after injector turn off with no other injectors on. Possible causes are: open or shorted injector ground circuit, open injector power supply circuit, open injector or failed driver in PCM. Go to next step.
- Inspect all related wiring and connectors and repair as necessary. Perform TEST VER-2Β . If no problems were found with wiring and connectors, go to next step.
- Start engine. Wiggle wiring harness from injector to PCM. If engine misfired or stalled, repair wiring harness as necessary. Perform TEST VER-2. If engine did not misfire or stall, see INACTIVE TROUBLE CODE CONDITION. Perform TEST VER-2.
- Injector diagnosis for TBI vehicles and SFI vehicles is different. See INJECTOR TROUBLE CODE table.
