NOTE: Before proceeding with diagnosis, certain precautions must be followed. See PRETEST INSPECTION  .

Diagnostic test procedures are designed to detect system faults as quickly as possible. Body fault codes are accessed through CCD bus diagnostic connector. See Figure . DRB-II tester is used to access information from CCD bus diagnostic connector.

DRB-II tester, 1991 diagnostic program cartridge, body diagnostic cable, jumper wires, analog volt/ohmmeter and oil pressure gauge will be needed for testing. Proceed to TEST 1A - IDENTIFYING VEHICLE EQUIPMENT & SYSTEM PROBLEMS  in TROUBLE SHOOTING CHARTS. When system problem is identified according to customer complaint, perform indicated diagnostic test.

When to See a Mechanic

Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
