EGR Valve
1989 Plymouth Colt DL, 1.5 X, StandardSECTION EGR Valve
- Remove EGR valve and check it for sticking, deposits of carbon and damage. Clean with solvent if necessary.
- Connect a hand vacuum pump to EGR valve. Apply maximum amount of vacuum to keep EGR valve closed. See EGR VALVE SPECIFICATIONS table. Ensure air does not flow thru EGR ports of valve.
- Apply specified EGR valve opening vacuum. See EGR VALVE SPECIFICATIONS table. Ensure air flows thru EGR ports of valve. Replace valve if necessary.
