DISCUSSION
To prevent damaging the overdrive (0D) transmission selector knob when removing the overdrive switch, the following procedure should be followed:

PROCEDURE
1. Remove the transmission selector knob as outlined in the appropriate service manual.
2. Place the 0D switch in the "OFF" position, (the switch button protrudes).
3. Using a small flat blade screwdriver gently pry the button loose as shown in Figure 1.

4. Holding the OD switch plunger in the depressed (ON) position carefully remove the OD switch from the selector knob, Figure 2.
5. To install the switch reverse the procedure.
