SUB EGR CONTROL VALVE
1. Ensure valve moves freely when pulled by hand. If valve is difficult to move, remove and check for carbon, dust or other deposits. Clean valve with suitable solvent and lightly lubricate as necessary.
2. If valve is still difficult to move, it should be replaced. If valve is difficult to remove, remove rubber boot and spray valve with suitable solvent to loosen.

EGR CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE
1. Start engine and run at idle until normal operating temperature is reached.
2. Disconnect green striped hose from injection mixer and connect hand vacuum pump to hose end.
3. Disconnect electrical connector from solenoid valve and apply approximately 9.8 inches Hg vacuum to valve. Engine should stall or idle become unstable.
4. Reconnect solenoid valve electrical connector and apply 9.8 inches Hg vacuum to valve. Engine operation should not be affected.
5. Replace valve if operation is not as described.
