Section 49 (Axle Shafts - Front): Description
Power from transaxle is transmitted to drive wheels by 2 axle shafts of unequal length. Both shafts use tripod type CV joints on inner end and Rzeppa type CV joints on outer end. Tripod joints are splined to transaxle while Rzeppa joint has stub axle splined to hub. Drive axle assemblies are of 2 different types, either G.K.N. or Citroen. See Figure .

When to See a Mechanic
