Check fluid level whenever other underhood services are performed. Under normal driving conditions, factory installed fluid will give satisfactory lubrication for the life of the vehicle. Under severe driving conditions, drain and refill at 15,000 mile intervals.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:

- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
