1998 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight LSSECTION Diagnostic Aids

An intermittent condition is likely to be caused by a poor connection at passenger inflator module harness connector terminals A or B, SDM terminal Nos. 1 or 4, or a poor wire to terminal connection in CKT 1403 or CKT 1404.

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic table. For circuit number identification, see WIRING DIAGRAMΒ  .
  1. 2) This test checks deployment loop resistance measured by SDM.
  2. 3) This test checks for proper contact or corrosion of passenger inflator module yellow 2-way connector.
  3. 10) This test isolates malfunction to one side of passenger-side air bag yellow 2-way connector.
  4. 12) This test checks for proper contact and/or corrosion of passenger-side air bag yellow 2-way connector.
  5. 17) This test checks if malfunction is in CKT 1403.
  6. 19) This test checks if malfunction is in CKT 1404.
