DTC will set when BCM is in learn mode. Scan tool will show the Passlock(R) data voltage when BCM is in learn mode and ignition switch is cycled. DTC B3031 will set when ignition 0 is inactive and Passlock(R) key code has not been learned. When DTC is set the vehicle will not start and the SECURITY indicator will be on. BCM will go to sleep and wake up after fault is cleared. DTC will clear from history after ignition switch is cycled on and off 100 times with no faults present. DTC can also be cleared using scan tool. DTC will also clear after BCM learns correct key code.
