- Connect scan tool to DLC. Scan tool main menu will appear on display. If scan tool does not power up, go to SCAN TOOL INOPERATIVE .
- Select diagnostic circuit check, CLASS 2 DTC CHECK from scan tool menu. DTCs should not be present. If DTCs are present, go to appropriate DTC table under appropriate class 2 data system.
- Select BODY DIAGNOSTICS from scan tool menu. Select SIR UART data line information. Check for SIR DTCs. DTCs should not be present. If DTCs are present, go to appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article under RESTRAINTS.
- Establish communication with Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). Check for EBCM DTCs. DTCs should not be present. If DTCs are present, go to appropriate ANTI-LOCK BRAKES article in BRAKES.
