Air Bag Modules: Installation
1998 Oldsmobile Achieva 3.1 M, 4T40E/MN4SECTION Installation

- Connect air bag connector and install CPA clip. Connect horn leads. Install air bag module to steering wheel, ensuring no wires are pinched. Install air bag module mounting screws through back of steering wheel and tighten to 89 INCH lbs. (10 N.m).
- Activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEMΒ . Check system for proper operation. See TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECKΒ .
- Install air bag module. Install fasteners and tighten to 31 INCH lbs. (3.5 N.m). Reconnect air bag connector and reinstall CPA clip. Install instrument panel trim pad.
- Activate air bag system. See DISABLING & ACTIVATING AIR BAG SYSTEMΒ . Check system for proper operation. See TESTING - SYSTEM OPERATION CHECKΒ .
