DTC U1016: Pcm Class 2 Serial Data State Of Health Fault: Testing

  1. If BFC diagnostic system check was performed, go to next step. If BFC diagnostic system check was not performed, see procedures in BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECKΒ  .
  2. Connect scan tool. Turn ignition switch to RUN position. Using scan tool, establish communication with PCM. If communication can be established, go to next step. If communication cannot be established, go to step 4).
  3. Diagnose and repair problem in PCM. See TESTS W/CODES article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE section. Go to step 8).
  4. Using scan tool, establish communication with other modules. If communication can be established, go to step 6). If communication cannot be established, go to next step.
  5. Locate and repair problem in DLC system. See WIRING DIAGRAMSΒ  . Go to step 8).
  6. Clear DTCs. Check for DTCs. If DTC U1016 exists, go to next step. If DTC U1016 does not exist, go to step 8).
  7. Replace BFC. See REMOVAL & INSTALLATIONΒ  . Go to next step.
  8. Clear DTCs. Perform BFC DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECKΒ  .
