The 1989 Eighty-Eight and Ninety-Eight Service Manual directs the technician to perform an incorrect diagnostic step on page 8A-67-4 of the Air Conditioning Compressor Controls. On the lower left-hand side of page 8A-67-4, the last box on the left asks the technician to "CONNECT A FUSED JUMPER ACROSS TERMINALS 1 AND 2 AT THE A/C SELECT RELAY."
The statement should read, "CONNECT A FUSED JUMPER ACROSS TERMINALS 1 AND 4 AT THE A/C SELECT RELAY." Please make a note of this change in your service manual.
