TPS Adjustment Check:





Make adjustments, only after the minimum idle speed has been adjusted, or throttle body parts have been replaced. A scan tester may also be used for this adjustment procedure or test.

1. Disconnect TPS connector and connect jumpers between the harness connector and the TPS sensor. Connect a suitable digital voltmeter to the dark blue and black wires in the TPS harness.

2. Turn ignition switch to the "ON" position, but do not start the engine. See TPS voltage reading under SPECIFICATIONS for voltage reading.

3. If voltage reading is higher than described in step 2, loosen the TPS retainer screws and rotate the the TPS sensor until you obtain the correct reading.

4. If voltage reading is satisfactory, tighten the retaining screws and and remove the voltmeter and jumper leads. Reconnect the TPS connector.

5. If proper voltage reading cannot be obtained , replace TPS sensor.
