DESIGN/PURPOSE 

Electric shift warning lamp indicates the driver that the A/T system/function is not normal or the A/T shift selector function is not normal.

BULB CHECK 

The electric shift warning lamp turns ON and stays ON for two seconds after turning ON the ignition switch.

OPERATION AT COMBINATION METER CAN COMMUNICATION CUT-OFF OR UNUSUAL SIGNAL 

For actions on CAN communications blackout in the combination meter, refer to Fail-safe .

SIGNAL PATH 

  • The TCM judges and decides condition of A/T system/function, according to signals received from each sensor and actuator.
  • When the A/T shift selector is not normal, it transmits a malfunction signal to the TCM via CAN communication.
  • When the lighting conditions of the electric shift warning lamp are satisfied, TCM transmits an electric shift warning lamp signal to the combination meter via CAN communication.
  • The combination meter turns ON the electric shift warning lamp, according to the electric shift warning lamp signal.

LIGHTING CONDITION 

When a malfunction is detected in the A/T system/function or the A/T shift selector function.

SHUTOFF CONDITION 

DTC erased
