DTC DETECTION LOGIC

P2616-00	A camshaft posi signal B1 ("A" camshaft position signal output circuit high bank 1)	Diagnosis condition	Engine running at idle
		Signal (terminal)	Intake camshaft position sensor (bank 1) signal for electric intake valve timing control
		Threshold	The intake camshaft position sensor signal edge count is more than 4 counts per one camshaft rotation
		Diagnosis delay time	1 second

POSSIBLE CAUSE 

• Harness or connectors [Intake camshaft position sensor (bank 1) signal circuit for electric intake valve timing control is open or shorted.]
• Electric intake valve timing control actuator (bank 1) circuit is open or shorted.

FAIL-SAFE 

Engine Control System 

Fail safe mode		Vehicle behavior
Device fix mode		Fixes electric intake valve timing control motor in the reference position. Fixes exhaust valve timing control solenoid valve in the reference position. The Intake manifold runner control valve motor is turned OFF (Intake manifold runner control valve opens).
Combustion control mode	Stratified charge combustion control at starting	No stratified charge combustion at starting (cold start).
Others		ECM stops the electric valve timing control. (The camshaft returns to the position of most retard angle.)

Idle Start/Stop System 

When a DTC is detected, the start/stop indicator lamp blinks slowly and the idle start/stop system operation is prohibited. When ECM detects error while operating the idle start/stop system, ECM restarts the engine.
