DTC Diagnosis Procedure
- CHECK DTC PRIORITY
- DTC P14C3 is displayed with DTCs related to following items, first perform the trouble diagnosis of DTCs.
- Crankshaft position sensor 1
- Misfire
- Fuel system
- A/F sensor 1
- A/F sensor 1 heater
- Mass air flow sensor
- Engine coolant temperature sensor
- Intake air temperature sensor
- Vehicle speed sensor
- DTC P14C3 is displayed with DTC P0544, P0545, P0546, P0547, P0548, P0549, P2081, or P2083, first perform the trouble diagnosis for DTC P0544, P0545, P0546, P0547, P0548, P0549, P2081, or P2083.
Is applicable DTC detected?

Perform diagnosis of applicable. Refer to DTC Index .

GO TO 2.
- DTC P14C3 is displayed with DTCs related to following items, first perform the trouble diagnosis of DTCs.
- CHECK FOR EXHAUST GAS LEAKS
- Start the engine and let it idle.
- Listen for an exhaust gas leak upstream the three way catalyst.
Is the inspection result normal?

GO TO 3.
>>
Repair or replace error-detected parts.
- CHECK EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSOR
With CONSULT
- Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
- Select "EXHAUST GAS TEMP SEN 1 B1" and "Exhaust gas temp sensor 1 B2" in "DATA MONITOR" mode of "ENGINE" using CONSULT.
- Check that "EXHAUST GAS TEMP SEN 1 B1" and "Exhaust gas temp sensor 1 B2" indication as follows.
Monitor item Condition Value EXHAUST GAS TEMP SEN 1 B1 - Warm-up condition
- Idle speed
Approx. 2.34 V Exhaust gas temp sensor 1 B2 Approx. 2.31 V
Without CONSULT
- Start engine and warm it up to normal operating temperature.
- Check that voltage between ECM harness connector terminals as follows.
Bank ECM Condition Voltage Connector + - Terminal 1 F78 52 78 - Warm-up condition
- Idle speed
Approx. 2.34 V 2 54 Approx. 2.31 V
Is the inspection result normal?
>>
Check intermittent incident. Refer to Intermittent Incident .
>>
Replace malfunctioning exhaust gas temperature sensor. Refer to Removal and Installation or Removal and Installation .
