Diagnosis Procedure
- CHECK DTC WITH ECM
With CONSULT
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Select "SELF-DIAG RESULTS" mode for "ENGINE" with CONSULT. Refer to , "CONSULT FUNCTION (ENGINE) " [MR20DE (California)], , "CONSULT FUNCTION (ENGINE) " [MR20DE (Except California)] and , "CONSULT FUNCTION (ENGINE) " (QR25DE).
OK or NG
OK: GO TO 2.
NG: Check the DTC detected item. Refer to , "CONSULT FUNCTION (ENGINE) " [MR20DE (California)], , "CONSULT FUNCTION (ENGINE) " [MR20DE (Except California)] and , "CONSULT FUNCTION (ENGINE) " (QR25DE).
- CHECK DTC WITH TCM
With CONSULT
- Turn ignition switch ON.
- Select "SELF-DIAG RESULTS" mode for "TRANSMISSION" with CONSULT. Refer to "CONSULT FUNCTION (TRANSMISSION) ".
OK or NG
OK: GO TO 3.
NG: Check the DTC detected item. Refer to "CONSULT FUNCTION (TRANSMISSION) ".
- If DTC of CAN communication line is detected, go to U1000 CAN COMM CIRCUIT .
- CHECK INPUT SIGNALS
With CONSULT
- Start engine.
- Select "ECU INPUT SIGNALS" in "DATA MONITOR" mode for "TRANSMISSION" with CONSULT.
- While monitoring "ENG SPEED SIG", check for engine speed change corresponding to "ACC PEDAL OPEN".
Item name Condition Display value ENG SPEED SIG Engine running Closely matches the tachometer reading. ACC PEDAL OPEN Released accelerator pedal - Fully depressed accelerator pedal 0.0/8 - 8.0/8 OK or NG
OK: GO TO 4.
NG: Check ignition signal circuit. Refer to IGNITION SIGNAL [MR20DE (California)], IGNITION SIGNAL [MR20DE (Except California)] and IGNITION SIGNAL (QR25DE).
- CHECK DTC
Perform "DTC CONFIRMATION PROCEDURE ".
OK or NG
OK: INSPECTION END
NG: GO TO 5.
- CHECK TCM
- Check TCM input/output signals. Refer to "TCM INPUT/OUTPUT SIGNAL REFERENCE VALUE ".
- If NG, re-check TCM pin terminals for damage or loose connection with harness connector.
OK or NG
OK: INSPECTION END
NG: Repair or replace damaged parts.
