- Start engine and warm to operating temperature. Ensure idle speed and timing are adjusted to specification. Monitor Green LED on ECU while increasing engine speed to about 2000 RPM for 2 minutes under no-load condition.
- Number of flashes during a 10-second period should flash at least 5 times. Race engine 2 or 3 times and allow to idle. Enter self-diagnostic Mode II. Monitor Green LED and Red LED on ECU while increasing engine speed to 2000 RPM for 10 seconds under no-load condition.
- LED's should flash more than 5 times simultaneously during the 10-second period. If LED's do not respond as described, check idle mixture. See IDLE SPEED & MIXTURE in ADJUSTMENTS article in the ENGINE PERFORMANCE Section.
