How To Shift Lock Forced Release

If the shift lever cannot be moved from the P position due to discharged battery or similar reasons, release the shift lock by observing the procedure below.

Turn the ignition switch to the position other than the LOCK (OFF) position.
Remove the shift lock forced release switch cover shown in the illustration below. While pressing the shift lock forced release switch with a screwdriver or a similar tool, move the selector lever.
