Using Scan Tool
2001 Mitsubishi Montero XLSSECTION Using Scan Tool
- Refer to manufacturer's operation manual for instructions in use of scan tool. Before entering on-board diagnostics, see SERVICE PRECAUTIONS . Locate OBD-II Data Link Connector (OBD-II DLC) under instrument panel, near steering column.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect scan tool to DLC. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Read and record scan tool self-diagnostic output. Proceed to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE DEFINITIONS . If scan tool will not communicate with PCM, diagnose communication concern. See SCAN TOOL WILL NOT COMMUNICATE under DIAGNOSTIC CIRCUIT CHECK. Turn ignition switch to OFF position before disconnecting scan tool.
