DTC Set Criteria
Engine coolant temperature is 68°F (20°C) or more. Rear Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) heater is on. Battery voltage is 11-16 volts. Monitor runs once per trip. Code will set if heater current of rear HO2S is more than 3.5 amps, or less than .2 amp, for 6 seconds.

When to See a Mechanic
Stop DIY work and contact a certified mechanic immediately if any of the following apply:
- • You smell fuel, burning insulation, or see smoke.
- • Brakes feel soft, pull hard to one side, or make grinding noises.
- • The engine overheats, stalls repeatedly, or misfires under load.
- • You are missing required tools, torque specs, or safe lifting equipment.
- • You are not confident in the next step or safety outcome.
