33 11... Replacing O-ring for side cover on the left or right rear axle differential (M6)
Necessary preliminary work:Β
- Remove REAR AXLE FINAL DRIVEΒ .
Label installation position of side lid (2) relative to housing.
Release bolts along line (1).
Tightening torque 33 11 8AZ .
Press lid (2) off of housing with two screwdrivers.
Installation note:Β
Markings (3) on lid and housing must match up.
Tighten screws crosswise.
Raise the bearing and remove lid (1) with disc (2).
Installation note:Β
Insert lid with disc in housing.
Raise bearing and push in lid to the stop.
Installation note:Β
Clean contact surface (1) for O-ring all around.
Replace O-ring (1).
Installation note:Β
Keep drain opening (2) for transmission oil clean.
Wet O-ring with approved final drive oil. See OPERATING FLUIDS .
After installation:Β
- Check FINAL DRIVE OIL LEVELΒ , correct if necessary.
