61 35 910 - Removing and installing/replacing control unit of electronic immobilizer





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Disconnect battery negative lead Instructions for Disconnecting and Connecting Battery
- Remove storage compartment in instrument panel (driver's side) 51 16 392 - Removing and installing/replacing storage compartment in instrument panel trim (driver's side)





Release nuts (1), tightening torque 61 35 1AZ [1][2]Alarm Module, (Vehicle Antitheft).
Disconnect plug connection (2) and remove immobilizer control unit.
UK vehicles only:
The control unit of the electronic immobilizer is protected by a metal bracket. Nuts (1) are special tamperproof nuts.





Replacement:
Carry out programming/coding Programming and Relearning.
