NOTE:
If a new Accessory Protocol Interface Module (APIM) is being installed, install the new APIMÂ
before carrying out the following procedure. For additional information, refer to
ACCESSORY PROTOCOL INTERFACE MODULE (APIM)
.
- Turn the Audio Control Module (ACM) on.
- Connect the scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Connect one end of the Universal Serial Bus (USB) male-A to male-A cable to the scan tool.
- Connect the other end of the USBÂ male-A to male-A cable to the vehicle USBÂ port.
- From the technician service publication website, run On-Line Automotive Service Information System (OASIS) using Quick Start or by manually entering the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).
- From the OASISÂ tab, select the "Sync/APIMÂ " bullet.
- Select the "Read APIMÂ " button to verify the current APIMÂ Vehicle Interface Processor (VIP) and Consumer Interface Processor (CIP) software levels.
- Select the desired software level from the list of available software for programming then select the "Program APIMÂ
" button to begin the APIMÂ
programming process. Enter the APIMÂ
As-Built data if prompted.
- When only the CIPÂ is being programmed, select cancel when prompted whether or not to program the VIPÂ .
- When the VIPÂ is programmed, the CIPÂ will be programmed automatically.
- The Sync/APIMÂ application downloads the software into the APIMÂ and displays "Programming has been completed successfully".
- Test the audio system for correct operation.
NOTE:
Do not disconnect the Vehicle Communication Module (VCM) or USBÂ
cables during APIMÂ
programming.
