Powertrain Control Module (PCM): Removal

2010 Mercury Mariner Hybrid, AWDSECTION Removal

    NOTE: PCM installation DOES NOT require new keys or programming of keys, only a Parameter Reset of the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS).
  1. Retrieve the module configuration. Carry out the module configuration retrieval steps of the Programmable Module Installation (PMI) procedure. For additional information, refer to PROGRAMMABLE MODULE INSTALLATION (PMI) .
  2. Detach the wiring harness retainer from the cowl stud bolt.
  3. Disconnect the 3 PCM electrical connectors.
  4. Remove the 2 bolts and the PCM.
  5. Remove and inspect the PCM cowl seal; install new if damaged.
