The transaxle range selector lever has 6 positions: P, R, N, Overdrive (Circle D), 2, 1. In addition, a transmission control switch (TCS) allows the driver to prevent a shift to 4th gear (Overdrive) and uses engine compression to help slow the vehicle (engine braking) in 2nd and 3rd gear.

When to See a Mechanic
