  • CHECK the operation of the interior lamps.
    • If the interior lamps operate correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • If the interior lamps do not operate correctly, REFER to INTERIOR LIGHTING to continue diagnosis of the interior lamps.
  • The safety belt warning chime does not operate correctly

    • If the safety belt warning indicator is inoperative, REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER to continue diagnosis of the safety belt warning indicator.
    • If the air bag warning indicator is inoperative, REFER to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM to continue diagnosis of the restraint system.
  • The message center warning chime is inoperative

  • CHECK the operation of the message center switches.
    • If the message center switches operate correctly, INSTALL a new instrument cluster. REFER to INSTRUMENT CLUSTER . TEST the system for normal operation.
    • If the message center switches do not operate correctly, REFER to INFORMATION AND MESSAGE CENTER to continue diagnosis of the message center switches.
  • The message center switch depression tone chime is inoperative
