Elevation System Check

2010 Mercury Mariner Hybrid, AWDSECTION Elevation System Check

  1. Check the parking aid system to make sure the system does notΒ  see signals caused by ground reflections.

  2. The following system check should be carried out with the vehicle on a 4.6 meters (15 feet) wide by 3.0 meters (10 feet) deep smooth concrete surface, free of all obstacles. The area should also be free of noise from fans and pneumatic tools.
  3. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, engine off.
  4. Apply the parking brake.
  5. Place the gear shift in R (reverse).
  6. NOTE: No audible warning tones should be heard. If audible warning tones are heard, check to make sure the bumper is installed correctly and not tilted downward so that the sensor is pointing towards the ground.
  7. Verify that noΒ  audible warning tones are heard.
