2010 Mercury Mariner Hybrid, AWDSECTION Test Procedure

- DP1 DTCS P0500 OR P1500: CHECK FOR TCM DTCS
- Carry out the TCM self-test.
- Are any TCM DTCs present?
Yes No DISREGARD the current diagnostic trouble code (DTC) at this time. DIAGNOSE the next DTC. GO toDIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) CHARTS AND DESCRIPTIONS . GO to DP2. - DP2 CHECK FOR CORRECT TIRE SIZE AND INFLATION
- Verify the correct tire size and inflation.
- Are the tire size and inflation OK?
Yes No GO to DP3. REPAIR as necessary.
CLEAR the DTCs. REPEAT the self-test. - DP3 CHECK FOR ABS DTCS
- Check the ABS module for wheel speed sensor DTCs.
- Are any ABS DTCs present?
Yes No REFER to VEHICLE DYNAMIC SYSTEMS to diagnose the wheel speed sensor DTCs. GO to DP4. - DP4 CHECK FOR CORRECT TRACTION MOTOR RPM DURING THE ROAD TEST
- Access the freeze frame data (if available) and record the DTC conditions.
- Access the TCM and monitor the M_SPEED and VSS PIDs.

- Does the traction motor RPM correspond with the vehicle speed?
Yes No GO to DP5. refer to PINPOINT TEST TP . - DP5 CHECK FOR CORRECT GENERATOR RPM
- Access the TCM and monitor the RPM and G_SPEED PIDs.

- Start the engine using the engine running diagnostic mode. Refer toDIAGNOSTIC MODES .
- Refer to the table above.
- Does the generator RPM correspond with the engine RPM?
Yes No GO to DP6. GO to TO2 . - Access the TCM and monitor the RPM and G_SPEED PIDs.
- DP6 CLEAR PCM DTCS
- Clear the PCM DTCs.
- Road test the vehicle.
- Repeat the KOEO and KOER self-tests and retrieve the continuous memory DTCs.
- Are any DTCs present?
Yes No DISREGARD the current diagnostic trouble code (DTC) at this time. DIAGNOSE the next DTC. GO toDIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) CHARTS AND DESCRIPTIONS . Test complete.
