Verify the condition by operating the accelerator pedal and shaft from idle to wide open-throttle and back again. Check for any resistance in forward travel of the accelerator pedal and shaft or hesitation on return.

If a concern exists, visually inspect all components of the accelerator pedal and shaft. Look for damage or binding of the accelerator cable. Look for obstructions at the throttle body and accelerator pedal and shaft.

For vehicles equipped with speed control, examine the speed control cable. Refer to SPEED CONTROL article.
