Removal and Installation

2009 Mercury Milan Premier, 3.0 1, AWDSECTION Removal and Installation

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. For additional information, refer to JACKING & LIFTING .
  2. Remove cooling fan motor and shroud. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  3. Remove the lower radiator splash shield.
  4. Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  5. Disconnect the A/C compressor electrical connector and wiring harness retainer.
  6. Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and position the A/C compressor aside.
    • To install, tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb-ft).
  7. Remove the 6 bolts and position the A/C compressor bracket aside.
    • To install, tighten to 25 N.m (18 lb-ft).
  8. Disconnect the oil pressure sender electrical connector.
  9. Remove the oil pressure sender.
    • To install, tighten to 14 N.m (10 lb-ft).
  10. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
    • Apply pipe sealant with Teflon® to the oil pressure sender threads.
