Inspect
Vehicle
Check and top up fluid levels: brake, coolant recovery reservoir, manual and automatic transmission (if equipped with an underhood dipstick), power steering and window washer. Inspect tires for wear and check air pressure, including spare. Check exhaust system for leaks, damage, loose parts, and foreign material. Check battery performance. Check operation of horn, exterior lamps, turn signals and hazard warning lights. Check radiator coolers, heater and air conditioning hoses. Inspect windshield washer spray and wiper operation. Check windshield for cracks, chips and pitting. Inspect for oil and fluid leaks. Inspect engine air filter. Inspect half shaft dust boots, if equipped. Check shocks and struts and other suspension components for leaks and damage. Inspect steering linkage. Inspect accessory drive belt(s). Inspect clutch operation. if equipped.
Universal Joint, Half Shaft/Short Shaft
Inspect and lubricate U-joints as required, if using Special Operating Conditions O. Inspect and lubricate U-joints every 5,000 miles or 6 months, if using Special Operating Conditions T, I, or D.
Universal Joint, Drive/Propeller Shaft
Inspect and lubricate U-joints as required, if using Special Operating Conditions O. Inspect and lubricate U-joints every 5,000 miles or 6 months, if using Special Operating Conditions T, I, or D. Inspect and lubricate u-joints when using Special Operating Condition E.
Steering and Suspension
Inspect and lubricate steering linkage and suspension if using Special Operating Conditions T, I, D and E. (lubricate if equipped with Zerk fittings).
Fluid - A/T
Inspect automatic transmission fluid level (if equipped with an underhood dipstick).
Exhaust System
Inspect the exhaust system and heat shields.
Drive/Propeller Shaft
Inspect and lubricate Drive Shaft
Cooling System
Inspect cooling system and hoses.
Constant Velocity Joint Boot
If equipped.
Brakes and Traction Control
Inspect brake pads, shoes, rotors, drums, brake lines and hoses and parking brake system.
Replace
Oil Filter, Engine
Change engine oil filter every 5,000 miles or 6 months, if using Special Operating Conditions T, I, D and O. Change engine oil filter every 7,500, if using Special Operating Condition E.
Fuel Filter
Replace fuel filter (not required for Fusion, Milan, MKZ, Edge, MKX, Taurus X, Taurus, Focus, Sable, E-Series, Escape, Mariner, F-150, Flex, MKS, Expedition/Navigator (short wheel base only). If using Special Operating Conditions I and D.
Engine Oil
Change engine oil every 5,000 miles or 6 months, if using Special Operating Conditions T, I, D and O. Change engine oil every 7,500, if using Special Operating Condition E.
Cabin Air Filter / Purifier
Replace cabin air filter as required (if equipped) if using Special Operating Conditions I, D and O if applicable.
Air Filter Element
If using Special Operating Condition D as required.
Rotate
Tires
Rotate tires, inspect tires for wear, measure tread depth and inspect wheel ends for end play and noise. Vehicles with dual rear wheels should only rotate if unusual wear is noted. For vehicles with different front-to-rear tire pressures, the tire pressure must be adjusted and the tire pressure sensor training must be done. If using Special Operating Conditions T, I, D, O or E.
