Master Cylinder/Booster Assembly: Removal

2001 Mercury Sable LS, 4D Sedan, 3.0 U, AX4SSECTION Removal
  1. With engine off, pump brake pedal until all vacuum is removed from booster. Disconnect negative battery cable. Unplug electrical connectors from master cylinder/booster assembly. Disconnect vacuum hose at check valve. Disconnect hydraulic lines. Plug all line openings.
  2. Remove trim panel from under steering column. Remove stoplight switch. Remove booster retaining nuts. Disengage push rod from brake pedal linkage. From engine compartment, remove master cylinder/booster assembly. Separate booster and master cylinder by removing master cylinder retaining nuts.
