Master Cylinder/Booster Assembly: Removal
2001 Mercury Sable LS, 4D Sedan, 3.0 U, AX4SSECTION Removal
- With engine off, pump brake pedal until all vacuum is removed from booster. Disconnect negative battery cable. Unplug electrical connectors from master cylinder/booster assembly. Disconnect vacuum hose at check valve. Disconnect hydraulic lines. Plug all line openings.
- Remove trim panel from under steering column. Remove stoplight switch. Remove booster retaining nuts. Disengage push rod from brake pedal linkage. From engine compartment, remove master cylinder/booster assembly. Separate booster and master cylinder by removing master cylinder retaining nuts.
