Installation (Windstar)
1998 Mercury Mountaineer 5.0 P, AWDSECTION Installation (Windstar)
- Reverse removal procedure to install. Ensure torque converter is fully seated. Align reference marks on axle shafts.
- Tighten all bolts/nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . Fill transaxle with Motorcraft Mercon ATF (XT-2-QDX). For fluid capacity and control cable or linkage adjustment, see appropriate AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION servicing article.
