Test H: Express Open Feature Does Not Work (Cougar & THUNDERBIRD)

- Check Moon Roof Operation - Turn ignition on. Hold switch to operate moon roof fully open and fully closed. If moon roof does not open and close, go to pinpoint test E. If moon roof opens and closes, go to next step.
- Check Moon Roof Power Supply - Open moon roof half way. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Brown moon roof motor connector. Turn ignition on. Check voltage between Red wire terminal and Black/White wire terminal of Brown moon roof connector. If voltage is approximately 5 volts, go to next step. If there is no voltage, go to step 5).
- Check Limit Switch 2 - Check resistance between Red wire terminal on moon roof motor and Black/White wire terminal on moon roof motor. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace moon roof motor and retest.
- Check Limit Switch 3 - Check resistance between Black wire terminal on moon roof motor and Black/White wire terminal on moon roof motor. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace moon roof motor and retest.
- Check Module Power - Turn ignition off. Disconnect White moon roof control module connector. Check continuity between Red wire terminal of moon roof control module and ground. If resistance is less than 10,000 ohms, repair Red wire. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or more, go to next step.
- Check continuity between Black wire terminal of moon roof control module and ground. If resistance is less than 10,000 ohms, repair Black wire. If resistance is 10,000 ohms or more, go to next step.
- Check continuity between Black/White wire terminal of moon roof control module and Black/White wire terminal of moon roof motor. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is morethan 5 ohms, repair Black/White wire.
- Check continuity between Red wire terminal of moon roof control module and Red wire terminal of moon roof motor. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Red wire and retest.
- Check continuity between Black wire terminal of moon roof control module and Black wire terminal of moon roof motor. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace moon roof control module and retest. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair Black wire and retest.
