Stabilizer Bar: Installation
1996 Mercury Sable LS, 4D Sedan, 3.0 SSECTION Installation
- Clean stabilizer bar where bushings mount. Lubricate inside of new bushings with Rubber Suspension Insulator Lube (E25Y-19553-A). DO NOT use mineral or petroleum based lubricant. Install bushings on stabilizer bar. Install "U" brackets. Tighten "U" bracket bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
- Ensure color code on stabilizer bar is installed on right side of vehicle. See Fig. . Ensure stabilizer bar insulator is positioned with slits toward rear of vehicle. Raise subframe. Install steering gear, and tighten nuts to specification. Install link assembly to stabilizer bar and strut. Tighten nuts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONSΒ .
